Now I see and/or agree with most of what you say, but you lose me when you say you define using your "X ray specs" yet dismiss the engine as defining (or not in this case). You see, to me you're being selective for no reason other than it suits somestick laugh2

I guess there isn't really a definition, just different things to different men. smile thumbs drive

That's it really. grin2

No it is not 100% trad and it's not Aero. It is a totally new concept.

That makes sense smile

However most cars are defined generally by their looks/shape (5series, 3: series; Audi A4, A6; Renault Clio range etc.) so personally I will agree with Aeroman grin2

OK, lets try this again. Take the engine & gearbox out of a trad. What have you got? A trad. It's not defined by the engine. It's defined by the chassis, the suspension and yes, the shape.

What defines an Aero? First the bonded aluminium tub. Second the advanced suspension. But to most it would be the shape.

I look at cars like this naked..........hence the X ray specs analogy. So although the Plus8+ is without a doubt a new concept, its geneology is Aero. How may parts are interchangeable with a current trad? Not many I suspect.

If I were to contemplate allowing one of these cars into the Trad Plus 8 Concours Class, I can see trouble ahead.

Time for some head scratching I think.

So when the Aero came along you defined a new category. The M3W must also do the same ? You cannot use the same category as the first generation ? Given the challenges involved perhaps it would be good to define and a new category and just enjoy the new offspring ?

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

The shift from three wheels to four was a seismic event which created a new enthusiasts club and was a pivotal moment for MMC.

The shift from trad design to Aero was a seismic event which I believe created a new enthusiasts club? and was the second pivotal moment for MMC.

The new M3W is an odd event because it has confused the M3W fraternity. It's clearly not a traditional three wheeler, because you can jump in and drive it - and whether or not this causes divergence in the M3W enthusiasts is too early to call. I would guess that it probably will.

Like you Andy I don't follow the logic, surely the Works are the final arbiter? Not what happens in the Mog Concours!?! doh

MMC have registered the shape of the 'Classic' Morgan and from a side view, the new Plus 8 has the same shape......go figure?
