If you really need to rest your right foot that badly, then cruise control. (if you don’t mind resetting it after every brake or clutch action!) Ifyou want to keep your licence, then go for automatic speed limiter instead. I use that feature much more than cruise.

It looks like the one Mark had fitted does have an option for a speed limiter on the same CM35 control stalk ?

Yes they seem to have limiters included.

The installer said my controller may have a speed limiter function, pressing the On/Off button for a few seconds but I have not tried it as I never found that function useful, next time out I'll give it a try.
WRT the Plus 4 GDI, it shouldn't be a problem as that's what mine is, but they probably don't know that.

Where I find the limiter most useful is when travelling through average speed cameras on road works. If you use cruise control, invariably you have to touch the brakes now and again due to other road users and so are constantly resetting. Whereas with the limiter, you set it on the required maximum speed limit and can be confident that you will not breach the limits and can brake at will or change gear, without touching a reset button. It’s also very handy in 20mph limits which are now becoming prolific, as I find it extremely difficult to keep speed down to that level, without full attention on the speedo rather than the more important road ahead...it feels like walking pace. But the limiter takes care of it. My Volvo even has the ability to recognise speed limit signs and automatically sets the limit and slows down accordingly.

Had a quick run out today and could not set a limited speed! So if that's a feature your after then the Stalk would be a better bet, but I couldn't see how it could be mounted and I didn't like the look of it. I also don't like the standard Morgan stalks and have the Stainless stalks on my list of future improvements. I did remove the black Bracket from the control pad and simply stuck it to the dash using double sided tape, I think it looks a bit better. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/02/25/IMG_20220225_130154_edited.jpg)

Looks better without the bracket I think to get speed limit you have to hold stalk up for 2 secs & get a confirmation beep, so perhaps you're not holding the button long enough on the little control panel version Mark ?

Much better. I may use one of the spare buttonswitch holes on Belle to mount it assuming they come back on costs etc.

I am persuing the cruise control. It seems it can be done. Ideally I need to find an analogue speed signal off the canbus. Does anyone know where that would be? The alternative is a GPS sensor.

What speed data does the cruise control require John? Back in the day it would have been an NMEA sentence dedicated to speed. Many GPS receivers output a range of such sentences which can easily be decoded.
