Not sure it's arrogance. Customers that have placed a deposit have in general done that via a dealer. These people, are customers of the dealer. If you'd ordered a new Fiesta would you really expect a VIP invitation to a launch at Ford's HQ? Plus, although MMC do have a new fancy coffee machine it's not that big a one 😀
Bit like apples and pears, surely. 50 to 70 UK units this year at most, compared to a new Ford model sales! There would be no better PR image than 50 "punters" stood behind the new model waving their deposit paperwork. Having been an exec of a UK Caravan and Motorhome manufacturer i can assure you that not all manufactures do it the same way.

Just screen-grabbed this from the impressive drone video that MMC released today. What could that be under the Gulf cover? ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/02/18/Screenshot-2022-02-18-at-13.55.16.png) If this is the new M3W (I guess it is), it looks incredibly long to me! Even longer than a regular Plus Four / Six? We'll have to wait until February the 24th to see reality, but OMG it really looks like one meter longer than our 5-Speeders!

...although MMC do have a new fancy coffee machine it's not that big a one So if the Launch venue's too small, hold the event off-site. A few extra £K expended now would help secure future sales prospects once the initial wave of euphoria is over. Next we'll hear that there are loads of ladies in attendance in slinky dresses, and chaps in purple jackets, all holding long-stemmed glasses. They'll each receive a Press Pack and stock photos. Fortunately for them I'm not the MMC's Sales & Marketing Director.

Commonsense comment Peter G. and no sour grapes A press launch is just that to bring a new model to market. Every manufacturer does the same, I applaud Morgan for involving the MTWC Touring Group by asking us to display some of the vehicles we use on our Touring Exploits .By involving the Club/owners I believe they have made a great PR move. We represent all owners. Anyone who paid a deposit did so through their dealer and was told it would be refunded after driving the demonstrator. That sounds pretty clear to me. It's fantastic that you are going and looking forward to seeing/hearing about it. And you are correct, most manufacturers involve a club/group to help with a launch as it's more of a benefit for them, Morgan, as you are doing the work of organising vehicles etc. A bit cheeky if you ask me. But on the other hand, I can see why. MMC just don't have the big budgets that most mainstream brands have. I know for the launches we do, there is the press launch event but more than that, regional customer events are planned in tandem and with great care for the customers. The factory works with the regions who in turn work with the retailers to pull that part together.

Just clocked some interesting details on the rear shot of the new M3W. Looks like an access panel has been added to aid in changing out the rear wheel and/or service access. As for the drone screen grab, that looks to be the new M3W as the front wheels peeking through are new. Is it me or is it quite a lot longer now?

Is it me or is it quite a lot longer now? That drone is using a very wide angle lens that distorts more at the edges. I wondered the same thing, but it is very hard to tell given the lens being used.

As Ian said next Thursday's event is the press launch, just that. No doubt the dealers will have their own launch events once their cars have been delivered.
