I have yet to find a positive independent test and report in praise of the fuel cat. But have seen several references to liken them unto snake oil.... But, “whatever floats your boat” as they say!

This looks like a fuel mix/ecu modifier, as opposed to an ethanol catalyst to produce hydrogen additive, or are there other components not shown?

On closer examination, I think you are right in your suggestion. I believe these things increase the fuel injection period via the ecu, when fuel with high concentrations of ethanol is used. However, as fuel economy suffers with ethanol, not sure of the financial advantage. Apparently, some states in the U S look at them as illegal because it counts as interfering with a vehicle’s emissions.

I don`t see that price differential at forecourts in U.K or recent European visits. That`s a significant saving, especially on high mileages. I run a Hydrogen supplement on the RV8, but mainly to try and improve emmissions, though I may get a 10% increase in mpg with moderate driving. Would be good to know engine application and perceived/recorded improvements. Good luck with it, I wish you positive results. Cheers Phil 🤞

Nick, I have a small setup in the engine bay that produces hydrogen gas on demand, which is piped into the air intake. Ive run it on diesels before, with improved exhaust smell- not empirical test I know, but an assumed cleaner burn. Google HHO generator and you`ll get the picture. I believe Honda were working on an Ethanol based generator for larger volum H production in a Hydrogen fuel cell powered car- not sure where that ended.

I guess I'm a born skeptic, if these things were so good I am sure a car manufacturer somewhere in the world would be using them or equivalent on their engines? I would think you will have to do some high mileage to breakeven on the cost of the unit. It's like all the additives and gizmos on the market to improve this or that most of the placebo effect is with the user. Hope it works for you which I'm sure it will.

Personally, for me it`s for a cleaner burn. I also installed solar hotwater system on a house 25 years ago, I doubt that`s reached ROI yet, but I just wanted to do it.There`s no free energy, obviously, but yes I hope that over 25,000 miles a year my emissions are reduced, and as I said, I possibly get 10% improvement- consistently 25+ mpg on the RV8, and I don`t always spare the horses. I too am a skeptic, but more towards the corporate giants needing to maximise profits before dwindling resources falter, so that renewables become necessity, thus bouying profit.. But hey ho, we plebeians can merely plod on.
