So worth all the effort in 1775 then?

Yep. So we thought. They get us all sorts of ways with tax. Virginia is the first state I have come across that makes us post a sticker saying we paid a tax.

I have just realised we have another, but similar, problem. In Italy you must display your insurance voucher. It is a square piece of paper about the same size as a tax disk and would be easily damaged by water. The only thing I can think to do is stick it in the bottom corner of the windscreen using a slightly larger square of clear adhesive plastic sheet to cover and protect it. I must see what other Italian Morgan owners do.

Gambalunga,
We have the same issue here in Ireland. I carefully cut mine into a circle making sure all the relevant text is showing and then insert it into a motorcycle style tax disk holder which is fitted to the bottom screen bolt. It faces forward slightly so is not a problem either opening the door or the bonnet.

Cheers

I have not been to Virginia, but imagine it is wonderful Morgan country. My son spent time at CU Boulder and when I visited, I would have love to have had access to a Morgan to explore the mountains. (I could live in Boulder - fantastic town)

I've never been to Colorado, but yes, it must be great scenery to view from a speeding Morgan. I have seen a few Morgans advertised for sale online in Colorado.

The Virginia Piedmont area is a fantastic driving area. I love it. There are areas along the coast that are a bit flat, so the rolling hills are where I would rather be in the Morgan.

It would be great to see some photos at some point. The lovely Lady Budster has spent some time in Virginia and loved it.

I have crossed Virginia by train. Great country.
But what about the smoky mountains once you get past that awful town of Pigeon Falls or around Rock City & Chatanooga

How many Morganeers have had their tax discs stolen off their windscreens in the past ?

I am suprised that this is such a popular modification. I had no idea.
