Hello,

unfortunately there are no more S&S Easy Start Camshaft Kit 569E (S&S ref. 330-0047) available.

And when some do turn up on eBay or similar sales forums, outrageous prices are being asked for them.

I'm wondering if it's very difficult to rebuild the parts needed. How do you see it: would it be possible to get the drawings for the parts from S&S?

I realise that these are forged/hardened parts but such parts are part of my business and I could organise this I think.

Or would it be conceivable for S&S to issue a one-off series once again if a certain number of pieces is required (from which number?)?

This is just an idea and I would be interested in the forum's opinion on this.

a great 3D parts scanner and machine from there? How do the hotrod cam builders do it? back in the day custom cam grinds were possible.

Howard and Crower are still in business and someone might want to give them a call about copying the 569 cams.

The cams incorporate S&S easy start which is not straightforward to replicate. It's also used for non M3W applications so probably preparatory and copyrighted.

pity. a discontinued part.

Maybe there will be a way to get modified cam shafts to be done out of the original M3W cam shafts (overwork them accordingly) ... M3W services is working on a solution and once they are ready they will offer them here for sure!

Let´s wait for them - they are really high professional guys and the know exact what to look for!

Another thought, get the 589 cams (i think that is the Stage 3 set) and regrind them to Stage 2 spec?

I thought the the installation of the 569s required a new mapping of the ECU. So even if they could be remade could it fit without the change to the ECU?

...if you start with the cam shaft rework you will have to do the full job in my point of view - means: air filter + muffler/exhaust + ECU + cam shaft ... everything else makes no sense.

I made now all possible rework on my M3W (PB Centa / chain drive conversion / Garage 56 muffler+air filter / Oehlins / KH steering upgrade / ...) - the only missing thing is the stage 2 tuning !

Let´s wait for the solution from M3W services... as usual the will offer something good ;-)
