Hi All

A good friend is looking to join the fold, he has seen a +4 he likes for sale in Edinburgh, it’s a 2005 +4, Indigo Blue with Blue Mohair weather equipment, stone leather piped blue. Currently showing a reg plate with VSF 7 on it.

Just wondering if anyone knows of this car.

It’s listed as 2 previous owners and 18,000 miles. Has masses of documentation and looks a stunner.

Just found out the first owner was a Mr E M Turner.

The plate is not genuine. Derek Mowatt fits a selection of apparently private plates to his sales cars for photo purposes. Further down his advert there is a Lexus SC430 with the same plate! Having said that, the car appears to be a nice one but I don't think that it is known in Scottish Morgan circles.

The DVLA records show VSF 7 to be a silver Audi. In the ad, pics show part of the Plus 4's past MoT trail.
They show the reg VX05 JZT, and mileage records to include:
21.4.15 =12,533 done at Fairway Service Station in Stone (near Stoke-on-Trent)
13.5.14 = 11,536
7.5.13 = 10,585
13.4.12 = 9,893
Try asking Derek Mowat in Edinburgh for some clarification. But beware, their photos show the door/sidescreens closed over the hood, so perhaps not a specialist ??

Thanks, I know of at least one person who has had a Morgan for 20 years who doesn’t close the door ‘flap out’ unless he is in the car.

Not everyone is as detail focused as us 🤣🤣

So at the risk of being detail-focused, is it a 2 previous owner car reg VX05 JZT, or (as per the Specificaions in the ad)
History - Owners - 1
a 1-owner vehicle reg VSF 7 ?
Somebody more familiar with the delicate aspects of passing-off may be able to advise.

He has been advised it’s a 2 previous owner car. Time will tell.

I recently went to view an allegedly two owner car. The first of the THREE owners was in the Channel Islands, so that didn't show-up on the DVLA records. Just saying.....

I'm pretty sure the car has been for sale for quite a while, I remember seeing it or one very similar with that plate last year. Although if the plates are used on different cars it may have been a similar Morgan.

I'm with you on this Gordon I think this car has been selling for around three years now. Covid will not have helped the vendor at all and it looks very good.
