My cheap Halfords trolley jack has finally succumbed to the trolley jack equivalent of arthritis. Can anyone one suggest a not too expensive replacement? My own arthritis stops me getting under my car very often so it would not get a lot of use, but it is essential to have one. Many thanks for your comments.

I have human arthritis and recommend spending a bit more and getting an aluminium jack. So much easier to heave around the place.

Never had much luck with aluminium jacks, they just seem too flimsy for heavy duty use.

Whatever you get, make sure you can get a service kit for it.

I've had a 3 ton Sealey Yankee for longer than I care to remember, I fitted a new seal kit about 6 years ago when it started to leak. Seal kit was 6 quid and tge job took about 30 mins!

if you have (or have access to!) a Costco card , they often have some good quality, low entry ally jacks on offer.

Might be worth a look....

+1 on the thinking that a low level jack can get under where normal jacks may not. I bought one from machine mart, had it delivered, has been doing the job for a few years now but not used much these days.. oldgit

Thanks for all your comments. I need to measure my Roadster for clearance under the axle-thing that the jack goes under. She's quite low to the ground at the front.

The nearest Costco outlet is 80 miles away in Bristol!

Axle clearance isn't usually a problem on mine, but the number plate is bumper slung, so I like the look of this, for when I eventually get a flat, level workspace.
