Following a recent brake disc/calliper upgrade I thought I might as well Renew the master cylinder seals - except Caparo AP are no longer trading . So rather than paying £££ for rare parts who’ll eventually become totally unavailable , I thought I would start looking around for something with the same dynamics/ spec which will fit in the same space on a 1999 +8 .
Rather than reinventing the wheel I thought I would ask the community if there’s an alternative or if there is another company producing the Caparo AP part number LBBHEL009BP

You could send your existing master cylinder away to have it reconditioned, usually by sleeving the bore with a stainless liner and then rebuild it with new seals.

Drop me a PM and I'll let you know the contact details for the firm I use.

Reconditioning will be a fraction of the cost of a new cylinder

Hi
As the company is no longer trading replacement seals aren’t available, so there’s nothing to be gained by sleeving the MC, I was hoping someone would have came across this issue and found a direct replacement eg a Mondeo or Mercedes unit . If I don’t hear anything on here I’ll start by asking MMC if the can recommend a company or someone who can help
