No trip out is complete without a rattle up the hill in Totnes, it's one way only up the hill and the Sports exhaust booming off the enclosed buildings and clock tower is wonderful. There is normally a dosser with his dog just where the two girls are that covers his dogs ears up when I go by and a thumbs up, I partly do it from pure badness as the place is the regional green centre for tree huggers and dope takers. You can walk up the high street and by the time you reach the top you can be shitface breathing in others grass an interesting diverse little town full of arty farty people. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/04/22/tot.jpg)

I never heard of LIDL, but it seems there are many in the US. None in Connecticut where I live, but not that far away in New York state. May have to take a drive and check it out.
Pauly, over here they have what they call a middle isle and it is always packed with man and woman bargains, quite often they have some really good tools in there it's always worth a rootle through as it changes weekly. Their fruit and veg are cheap and always far fresher and better quality than the Sainsbury's store which they think is a little superior There was a similar place in Rhode Island called Benny's. Not the food so much, but tools, kitchen items, toys and beach equipment. It was part of our ritual to go there and browse when we were camping in the area. They closed a number of years ago, and we still cry about it when we pass the old store.

The hill is too steep for us to walk up these days, so for the past 5-6 years we have frequented Sidmouth instead which is mainly on the flat. Plus we blend-in better with the age profile.

The middle aisle just to give you a taster.

Yes they are all still there, it's a thriving little town despite Covid's best efforts with some good small live music venues. Glad you are enjoying Sidmouth it's a lovely spot.

A drive to Melvyn's for the first of his 'Bonnets Up' events. Good turnout, with a number of non Mog cars as well as a a mix of Mogs, from a 1920's Grand Prix, to Plus 8's.

West Wales Noggin last night, just West of Carmarthen. This afternoon went back to pay for the food due to forgetting last night! Extended the drive back to Llandeilo, through Ammanford, down to Llangennech ( couple of miles on the Western end of M4). Visited grandchildren then home. Having only done short squirts for a while the extra miles were great.
