Yes. Everywhere I go long haul is on the A12 A!4 M25. All are speed camera bomb alleys. As is the A1 & M1.

The Plus 8 has BMW cruise control, I find I use it often, especially outside Wiltshire. I also use WAZE as a navigation / speed camera warning device.

We rely on our Tomtom and Waze as they both transfer with the vehicle.
Amazingly my ten year old Tomtom still gets free updates - it was a good £90 worth.
We have cruise control in the Fiesta which makes for a more relaxed drive when we traverse the country visiting our youngsters and their children.

I have three Tom Toms with 'lifetime maps' that are no longer supported/updated. According to TomTom, “Lifetime means the useful life of the device, i.e. the period of time TomTom supports your device with updates, services, content or accessories. A device will have reached the end of its life when none of these are available anymore.” I had a 'GO' and a 'START', and the Mrs had an IQ ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/04/27/TOMTOM.md.jpg)

Amazingly my ten year old Tomtom still gets free updates - it was a good £90 worth. That's good to know. We still use ours (similar vintage) but I long ago lost the instructions. How do you update it ? A few weeks back we found ourselves spectacularly lost in Reading, as the supermarket car park we kept being directed to wasn't there when our TomTom was born. (Don't tell me to check on the smartphone, we haven't got one !).

I registered it online at the time (no handbook issued) and the first question was your email and they just send an email telling me updates are available and I do as instructed with no need to log in as I downloaded to my desktop the TomTom Mydrive connectapp and plug the unit into a usb and it's automatic. I'm on Windows 10 fyi. I hope that helps.
