Yes, R8905 is the chassis number. The Morganville Registry run by Tony McLaughlin has over 5000 entries and I see your car is in there as a brown 1981 +8. The contact details for the past owner are there (I'll make no comment on the data protection issues with that!) You can order a "Chassis Record" from the Morgan Motor Company at https://www.morgan-motor.com/chassis-records/. However, at £80 for a single A4 sheet, this is a tad expensive and doesn't give you much more than the original spec and delivery date. There is a useful article on GoMog https://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/ChassisNumbers.html. If you haven't already found it, there may well be an etching on the bonnet hinge. I don't know what the other two numbers mean, my chassis plate has the same ones.

Try the Morganville register. The r number is the chassis number https://morganville.org/

Got this information from a Brit friend of mine.
The English plate is CNP 707W
The W on the license plate does indeed indicate it was registered in 1980, The second and third characters (NP) suggest it was registered in Worcester.

You didn't say it had a Britsh registration! That's curious, is it a right-hand drive? The "W" means it was registered between 1 August 1980 and 31 July 1981. It is on the DVLA database www.gov.uk/get-vehicle-information-from-dvla![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/04/30/CNP707W.png) Showing as a 1981 car, which matches with the Morganville registry (the chassis numbers before and after yours are also 1981). It looks like it spent a couple of years on British roads before being exported to the US. "NP" is indeed Worcestershire so maybe it was a factory demonstrator?

Yes it is right hand drive. I assume that's why it wasn't converted to propane.

Do to it's age I'll be able to get a Historic plate here in Ohio. Only $ 10 and it's good until 2050.
I've heard that I don't have to mount the plate as I've got the British plates on the car. You just have to keep the historic plate in the car in case you get stopped. I'm going to check that out to make sure that's the case.
Thanks again for all your good information.

Well I could only use a 1980 Ohio plate not the UK plates. But I'll keep the UK plates on the car and mount the historic plate too on the rear
Our first Cars and Coffee is this weekend. Can't wait to show off the Morgan. Just wished the 3 Wheeler was out of the shop.
