As usual this forum is the best. My car should be here tomorrow so I'll check it out.

Thanks all

I hope this picture helps

Mine also has a couple of small studs, one on the top of each half of the bonnet, to hold the strap in place between the two banks of louvres and to limit any movement of the belt that might damage the paint finish. A couple of holes in the belt needed to locate the belt on the studs

Contributed to this thread a couple of years ago, but recent mods I'm most pleased with are:

1) SiFab aluminium radiator to replace leaking OE
2) Adding switchback LED lighting in front indicator position
3) Shortening number plate mount box to match grill.

I applied PPF to stop any paint damage

Ditto I have PPF but no paint on mine. More scratch protection.

How do you deal with where the strap crosses the louvres ? ...... do you cut the protective tape with a razor blade to just cover the 'sticky up bits' while leaving the openi gs clear?

This is a job I will be doing shortly

Aha! Another advantage of having ‘reduced’ louvres, as on my 4/4!
The strap is just forward of the louvres,
happy3

However, I did covet the 70th Anniversary 4/4s which had both the 1.8 Duratec engine and a gap in the louvres, where the bonnet strap sat.

On my 4/4 the mods I’ve added are a Mulfab Al radiator, (many years ago), a wire grille, to protect it, round door mirrors and a wood rim steering wheel.

On my car the ppf stops just before the louvres, no big issue with polished alloy. My last Roadster had a belt but no PPF . I took that off as I was worried fir the paint. The edges of the loveres were piantless.

I have a few simple mods on my Roadster that I could not live without -

1. Door checks - otherwise before long your shins will be black and blue.
2. Sports exhaust - for that charismatic deep rumble. Motoring should be a sensory experience and the ears are as important as the eyes. i have the Librands sports exhaust which i think sounds better than the Morgan version.
3. Morgan Park chrome steering column and stalks - a bit pricey but so much nicer than the standard plastic efforts from Morgan.
4. Round side mirrors - perfect finishing touch for the exterior.

I have never regretted any of these extras, even though they add up to a fair sum.

Yes I cut small pieces of PPF for the louvres
