I think MMC oiled every item on my car when it was with them recently.... at least I think they did.

But it's meant that the Tenax fasteners no longer clip into place with a click. Net result, they blow off when driving along - these are the 'hood tidy' Tenax that secure the side flap things - if you see what I mean.

Maybe the oil will dry (I assume they've been oiled and this is what the problem is). If it doesn't, is there a way to tighten them?

Take a look at the Tenax fastener. In the hole, you should see three ( I think is is three ) metal leaves. If one of these has broken off and is partially obstructing the hole, the thing won't grip. Its usually caused by people part pulling out the Tenax knob as they push to over the static element. The partially retracted leaves then get distorted and ultimately break.

I push the Tenax over the static piece without pulling on the knob - they last a lot longer that way.

Mrs F is no longer allowed near them.

They are easy to replace - I got a bag of 10 and the tool you need off eBay.

Thanks Paul... the metal leaves look to be ok.... Hmmm, I could replace I guess, but I am anxious about messing with the hood. Maybe the oil will dry out in my warm garage? It'll be a pain on my planned jaunt to the Med next month if they keep blowing off.

ETA, I've ordered some off Ebay, they look to screw off, which should be easy.

Yes - they are very easy to fit.

Dead easy if the come with the little tool

If you suspect they are contaminated with oil / grease, gently push a cotton bud in't 'ole and leave overnight to soak it up

And if the little tool is not available a small circlip pliers also helps

I thought Tena X were for incontinent people, perhaps that is why Morgan fitted them to their incontinent cars

As you say, very easy to replace, I had thought they were riveted somehow, hence my hesitation.
