I think much is common with the VW Phaeton Oz. Having recently assisted with a steering rack change on SiL's Phaeton, it wasn't so bad. The engineering is impressive and on the large side, but the air suspension disconnects and removes easily, and reprimed quickly. His is only the V6 diesel, but he's toyed with finding a W16. The V6's are usually under £9k here so a lot of car for the money.

Derided as a footballer's car but I think they are marvellous, and the current bid represents good value.

I think the Bentley is a great car for the money with loads for sale but you do need to get one that has been well invested on servicing. It's no Aerial Atom but a great GT. The W12 is lovely.
I had the VW Pheaton V10 TDi and it was beautiful. The V6TDi is nice and much more sensible but the V10 and W12 come with the ultra interior as standard and it is almost as good as the Bentley. From a cost point of view there are a few things to watch. It weighs a (three) ton and all the suspension bushes get squashed and need replacement. Brakes take a serious beating as well. I had almost no problems at all with mine over 110,000 miles.
If you are looking at a big good value cruiser I would also add a W216 CL500, not the AMG models as that raises the stakes for everything. Also amazing value for money.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
