Very interested to see how they work out. More fexible has the advantage of being easier to install i would believe.

As to any other aspects of the timing belt we all will find out sooner or later.

This is the lower cost D&D cam belt.

I believe the original Gates belt is kevlar reinforced. This one isn't which explains why it's more flexible.

Who's going to be the first to take the plunge?

At least our engines have the huge advantage that if the cambelt breaks, the valves are not damaged. And you can change the time belt on the side of the road relatively easy and keep going. A cheap cambelt failure shouldn't ruin your engine nor your trip! laugh2

There's an awful lot of “checking” and very little spannering for the money. And…my big gripe (and not just with MMC), most customers have to pay VAT so why advertise prices without?

The Annual / 10,000 mile service at Krazy Horse was 4hr 15 mins labour including the cam belt change. The report comprises 63 line items including a before and after road-test, and valet.
