A regular occurrence on the M5/M4 split at Almondsbury, too. Yes it is.

Unfortunately a regular occurrence, meaning the rest of us have to drive 'on our guard' all the time, nowadays

I have had to remove the post on youtube as required by the police. Yes, it happens... If you have a video editor that allows you to blur the car plates, it's OK to upload it again. But as long as the plates of the cars around are visible, being a video "accusing" another driver for incorrect driving, they don't allow you to keep it online as you / they can identify the cars / drivers. You can upload a video showing the face of someone doing something wrong, but not a video in which a car can be identify with a visible plate number... Yes to the face of the idiot, no to his car's plate... That's how stupidly the laws are made.... probably during one of those work meetings where you "bring your own booze"...

Could the Police request indicate that they intend to prosecute and so need to ensure the chain of evidence stuff ?

There is a website for Devon and Cornwall police (called Op Snap) to upload dash cam footage to them. They examine it and they say they will let me know if a prosecution is to follow. They examine ALL your footage to make sure, no doubt, that you haven't been a naughty driver as well, and to make sure that it hasn't been tampered with.

Similar thing happened to me today. On our way to a DonMog member's funeral in the Morgan and approaching a roundabout on the A46 southbound near Leicester. A Ford Focus undercut me, went round the outside of one car, inside another, outside yet another and then inside again. I had been overtaking and was in the outside lane. As I was less than 800 yards from the roundabout, I was about to indicate and move left to be in the correct lane when it happened. Only just saw him in time.

That's fair and good, innocent until proven guilty. I cannot say how often I have sat behind a queue of thirty cars in the outside lane, sorry lane 3, to see someone running parallel to a snoozer in lane 2 which results in the morons of our world going up the underside, hard shoulder and across three lanes to get past. Its like watching a slo-mo of a youtube clip.

Over several years of motorway commuting I have seen so many stupid things it doesn’t surprise me at all. I am amazed that as more motorways were built that some form of instruction on using them wasn’t added to the driving test. A simple lesson by an instructor would be good. When my children passed they were given a lesson. Luckily the M4 was near so no big deal. Not as easy for many rural areas but worth the time. Westist Wales, Scottish Highlands etc are more distant.
