Morning all - we are North Yorkshire based and currently planning to make our way to Liverpool to catch the ferry early Friday morning, 17th June. Any others from Yorkshire / Lincolnshire planning on doing the same and wanting to meet up en-route ??.

Cheers

The Lincolnshire contingent M3W's, both of them, are staying overnight in Liverpool. A leisurely breakfast and then departure at 1115 for the IoM, that is the plan at least. See you at the ferry 👍.

Thanks Ian - we may yet stay over in Liverpool as opposed to trek across the M62 during rush hour. See you soon.

Its worth considering that if you miss the ferry on Friday morning you'll really struggle to get another booking for a few days.

In the event of a game-over breakdown in IOM, is anyone relying on the AA for recovery? We are trying to ascertain whether our membership would cover us and the policy wording is somewhat ambiguous. A nice man at the AA call centre thought that we would be covered but wouldn't put it in writing! Does anyone have any experience of this?

Bunny, I’ve added AA European cover to my AA breakdown/relay cover. It covers their zone1 which also explicitly says it covers the IoM. This suggests to me that the standard cover does not include the IoM. I thought it best to be sure beforehand 😎

Thanks Ricardo, your advice backs up the opinion of Mrs Bunny so I now have to put up with the 'I told you so's' etc!

In the end I have added European breakdown and Recovery to my Headley insurance policy. Cost £35 which I thought was quite reasonable.
