This website evokes some lovely visions of the European Grand Tour on a bike in the 50's!

Fantastic. I love the sense of era the photos exude - the shirt & tie rig and the brewing up of tea all round europe.

Great collection. Tells the story well.
Makes me want to get on my bike and tour europe for a month or so, like I did when I was a student (I have to say that I never wore a shirt and tie !). Great adventures...meeting interesting people along the way. Great times !

Really great pics and not a "bone dome" in sight.
Thanks for sharing.

The really surprising bit is how much travel they did wearing suits and ties!

Absolutely brilliant post. Convinces me that I was born in the wrong era. I always maintain that everything started to go wrong when people stopped wearing hats ! Have been touring Europe on m/bikes for over ten years now and never fail to be impressed, much better than here, we're simply too overcrowded and whilst I certainly don't expect preferential treatment for riding a bike, bikes / bikers are treated much better in Europe than in the UK. A few of us did a recent trip to Ypres to do a tour of the WW1 sites and we witnessed the evening ceremony at the Menin Gate and took a few pictures of the bikes there the next day. As you will see, we're all budding Charlie n Ewans on our BMW GS Adventures. Fantastic do everything bikes.
