Haven't seen or heard of any protests down here.

Just a very quick scan of google gave me details Yellow Vest fuel protests in Nov 2018, Dec 2018, Oct 2021 and March 2022......

Some even resulted in deaths. Censorship must be very good in France!

Fuel Protests in France, Italy and Spain

So you're reporting protests from three and a half years ago to three months ago representing a complete range of grievances and then rolling them all together as a cost of living crisis now? Are you a journalist from one of the red tops?

I refered to us copying the French model of effective protest, you said you'd never heard of it, so I gave some datable and referenced evidence where protest had prevented fuel price rises.

If you want to try and make up a whole back story behind my posts, then that's your prerogative, but it would be better to just stick to the detail in front of you. wink

What I like about protestors is that they never protest in their own back yard, how jolly same with riots they never set their own cars or house's on fire.

Let's face it this is clever, the rest of the country doesn't give a monkey's about yet another protest in London. Now when they start popping up elsewhere, where there is less of a police presence to protect the protestors, this will get into the nation's mind more. I have no doubt in my mind a lot of this is sewn by opposition politicians along with civil service go slows in the DVLA passport office etc to get the incumbent government out by applying more and more pressure until they crumble, thing is in my mind's eye if the country goes down this route then whoever follows on is going to have to cope with a country that is governed by social media mob rule, once you let the genie out of the bottle it's very hard to get it back in.

We live in turbulent times, I don't think as a nation that we have rational governance with a calm hand on the tiller and I don't see anyone else in the wings with the abilities either in any of the four corners.

Actually that's not what you said and it's not what I said either. And as for "detail" - ditto!
