Studded screen frames now have fittings for visors. Adrian - beige interior is an absolute nono. Thank you Dave for the constructive reply. My car, being 1992, has no such provision. If I change cars I will have to look out for this facility.

Agree about the towel! BTW have had my hood up once during the last year... And that was only to see what it was like! Nearly two years with this latest car and I have never put the hood up. The closest I got was to make sure it was on top of luggage under the tonneau, rather than under it so It could be deployed if required. AS RobMog88 and Spanner Juggler will tell you, I didn't bother with it when we came to leave Barmouth last Thursday morning - was only light mizzle...

With the size of hats you wear I'm not surprised you don't have the roof up, surplus to requirements

If I wore them in the car I'd be joining one of these -

Could you give me any tips on erecting the traditional hood please? Mine is the 2 hoop type on the LM62 and although the car is 20 years old, the hood is brand new. The advice I had was to leave the side press studs off, fit the hood then pull the hoops up but I then couldn't engage the studs. Swivels not an option for me.

If I think I might need the hood then I fit it to the rear only. I then fold it ( but not the clear rear window) so it forms a rear shelf cover , fit the sides using the turnbuckles. It is then ready to pull forward and fix to the screen studs. Almost an Easy Up hood. If rain gets heavy enough to need it then a quick job to fully fit. To raise the two hoops I unclip the sides, pull the hoops up, pull the hood forward, fit the studs/ turnbuckles then use the pivots to tension the hood. I basically decide whether the hood or tonneau cover is the option. If the hood is not needed I fold it and place it behind the seats so it is with the car, just in case.

I used to fix all the studs & clips & then erect the hood. Warming it over the bonnet if it is cold & neverflex can help. Leave it up over winte if it is tight.

Whatever you do, make sure there's no stress in the hood or it'll simply rip. This +4 currently for sale at Stratton Motor Co shows what can go wrong if you don't release the Tenax fastener. They say "supplied by us from new" but whoever took the photos evidently didn't get the memo -- looks like the Cat in the Hat and it'll rip any moment. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/21/Hood-on-Stratton-Motor-Co.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/21/Hood-on-Stratton-Motor-Co-crop.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/21/Cat-in-the-hat.jpg)
