No, I had to tick a box saying I would sent it back but maybe it will get lost in their post? 🤥

I would hold on to your existing, I have heard of some renewals loosing categories to drive and users having some serious hassle getting it corrected without proof, and the proof they ask for...copy of your old licence, which you then don't have doh

I'm glad I copied mine then before I sent it off last year.

I took a photocopy of mine, and I did it the old way by filling a form and posting off, I was about to do it on line then I noticed that you lost some of the categories.
Came back quickly, but then I moved house and had to send it off with my new address, it took quite a while before I got it back with my new address

Got my 70+ drivers licence today, so that is under 7 days, excellent.
Also in the post, a letter from DVLA asking me to apply for a 70+ licence, that can now go strat in the bin.
I can now look forward to another 3+ years of driving.

Has anyone else experienced delays recently with the DVLA? My son bought a second-hand Lexus from a dealer last November and still hasn't received the V5C. Unfortunately, he wrote the car off in an accident just after Christmas but is currently still the registered owner! He bought a VW Golf on 11 February and the V5C hasn't arrived for that one yet either.

I know postal / hardcopy communications with DVLA have been slow since Covid, but anything performed via the website used to be quick. Four months for a V5C seems excessive.

We changed the Disco and took delivery on 28th November. The new V5C arrived before 7th December.

My Mrs scrapped her i30 on the 27th of Feb, filled in the online form on the DVLA website on the 4th March and recieved written confirmation fromt he DVLA that she was no longer the owner yesterday so that all seems reasonable.

No new V5C to print though.

Ok thanks. It sounds like the DVLA are still prompt for online services. I suspect the lack of V5Cs may be due to the dealer involved (the same one in both cases). Unfortunately, without the number on the V5C it's impossible to do anything on the website.

I had a problem recently with notifying change of address for my DL done online, my partners came back in 4 days but 6 weeks later mine had not appeared. I phoned them got straight through and was told I had omitted/made a mistake on the application, the guy amended it and DL appeared a couple of days later. From this I deduced That if your application is not exactly right they just file it and not notify it so my advice a phone call.
