I experienced worn pinion gear teeth in my old Lucus starter unit. I have B900 which is a series V4/4 built in 63. I just put on a new high torque starter rather than repairing the old one. Has anyone replaced an old unit such as I have?

I've not fitted one to a Morgan but had one fitted to my E-type a number of years ago. It certainly did the job well but unfortunately it sounded more like a Toyota than a Jaguar!  Most people wouldn't notice that though...

I believe they are higher revving geared down motors to give the higher torque output. This probably explains the differing sound.

I have one, but can't get it to line up/engage for love nor money. Need another day of fettling.....
