Talk Morgan Forums Community The Malvern Arms TM Image Library - 5 years

5 years ago we initiated the TM Image Library due to the virtual blackmail for subscriptions by a noted image repository that had, up until that time, offered a free service.

The TM Image Library was formed by Talk Morgan members, for the use of Talk Morgan members and is closed to casual browsers. It is possible for anyone to sign up and view the images but in practice it does seem that all, or the vast majority of members, are members of Talk Morgan.

We decided to follow the model of the Talk Morgan forum itself and offer a free service for members of said forum. The service is, like Talk Morgan itself, funded by voluntary donations.

At this point I should thank all those who have made donations and have left the Image Library in a good financial situation.

As the service has grown we have already had to upgrade to the next level with our hosting service and, in the near future, it will be necessary to upgrade our hosting service again to cater for the number of images hosted.

I would like to thank the hosting service, https://www.tmdhosting.com/, for the excellent service and support that they have provided.

I would also like to thank Tim, my co-administrator, for his essential contribution. None of us are getting any younger and right from the first days I insisted that there should be another person with full administrative access in case of need, Tim quickly volunteered to fill that roll and developed some of our information pages on Talk Morgan and the https://tm-img.com/page/ifu page.

By having two administrators we are able to ensure that the service continues to be available as long as it is needed.

Now for the statistics.

As at today we have 575 Users, not all active by any means. We are hosting 29,766 Images in 11.7 GB of disk space. The number of images hosted is simply amazing when you think about it

It must not be forgotten that the great initiative in all this came with the establishment of the Talk Morgan Forum itself and the continuing administration and development by its founder, Simon. I will sign off with a big thank you to Simon and all the moderators of Talk Morgan.

As one who has long been grateful to the Morgan cyber community in all it`s forms, for education, assistance, friendship and of course the images others post, all of which adds so very much to the enjoyment of the forum.

I have had lots to be thankful for to all those over the years who created and maintained so many aspects which came together to make forums work for everyone.

I have not been a member of TM for as long as I was involved on other Morgan forums in past times, but very grateful to all those who make it that which it is, especially those who put in the effort to maintain it to the extent that we can all share and enjoy, and in my case especially the galleries, thus very much in your debt Peter and Tim. THANKS.
