Has the Citroen 2CV ever been officially imported into the USA? I have seen plenty on this side of the pond.

Has the Citroen 2CV ever been officially imported into the USA? I have seen plenty on this side of the pond. They rust marginally faster than a sardine can and about as structurally aware to travel in - but great fun while it lasts  Taking the rear seat out for a picnic is great fun. THAT is ludicrous money

I drove the Citroen 2cv (in Germany the 2CV is called "Ente" - "Duck")
as an everyday car with enthusiasm for 13 years. I still mourn a bit for this wonderful car, I'm happy every time I see one.

Stupid money - I hope he got it home before the rust set in  We had an AMI 8 - the same running gear and 602cc - great fun and covered 60,000miles in it totally reliable and my wife absolutely loved it. It took us all over Europe up to Oslo, but oh dear they melt like chocolate in the rain and salt of our country. I'd buy another but for around 5k you can get a re chassed one with rebuilt running gear over here, spares are plentiful and cheap. We part exchanged it for the Reliant Scimitar GTE 3,000cc V6 and the guy at the garages parting shot was - do be careful..

Jens ... there's a surprising amount of 2cv love going around on this forum ... I had a Dyane for years as my daily driver and would have another one any time .... proper fun little cars and game for anything! K
