On my 2006 Plus 4 Duratec with Sport exhaust.

The clamp connecting the stainless silencer box to the manifold down pipe has fractured

It is a bell profile clamp with the following details
Aeroquip
RedditchUK
6199224-0250
Nut Torque 20-21 Nm



I have attempted to find on internet including Aeroquip.

can anybody help me source this clamp

I had the same thing a couple of months ago, Cain at Wolf had them and replaced it for me.

I had the same on my 2002 4/4. Melvyn Rutter came up trumps. I was unable to source it myself.

There's a temptation to overtighten that clamp I suspect. A gas tight joint seems achievable without such especially if the flares and inner part of clamp are greased first.

Ian, they are a fairly common exhaust fitting on tin tops, your local tyre & exhaust fitting centre or motor factors should be able to match it up if you take the old one with you

An update.

Thanks to Burgundymog I contacted Cain and he sourced the right Aeroquip clamp from Morgan. The clamp comes with a new doughnut that fits between the two pipe ends.

Its not cheap at circa £60. Apparently the reason the Part number does not appear in Aeroquip catalogues is because it is bespoke made for Morgan! .

Only Morgan could get an exhaust clamp "custom" made for a bl**dy exhaust pipe! Cain was super helpful and I hope to have clamp by end of week.

He advised that general exhaust V clamps (of which I have ordered two variants at about £8 each) are not appropriate because of the profile of the joint/doughnut.

Anyway, to fit the clamp and doughnut the exhaust connection has to be separated so that doughnut and clamp camp be inserted/ fitted. This entails undoing the probably very seized/corroded U Bolts holding the exhaust to allow the Silencer/tailpipe to move rearwards.

I have a fear that it will be one of those jobs that I start and end up with seized components, wont have replacements to hand, and a clamp replacement becomes a nightmare. So............

The plan is to get clamp drive caitiously to an Exhaust fitter workshop and get them to do it.

I will let you know how it goes and total cost.

As an aside Cain also highlighted that these clamps are in short supply.

Good to know where to get them. I was doing a bit of preventative maintenance at the weekend and removed the clamp to find the "donut" with a fair amount of rust on it. Painted on some rust converter so hopefully that'll prevent it from worsening. Need to check the other side now and do the same.

Update: received the new clamp and Doughnut from Cain.
Supported silencer box, Undid front U-Bolt. It disintegrated !!
Undid rear U-bolt . came apart no-problem
Pulled exhaust to rear (didn't release rear rubber hanger.) gave sufficient clearance to remove old doughnut, clean up faces.
slip new exhaust clamp loosely over manifold down pipe, fit new U bolt over silencer pipe and loosely secure, ( This was a lesson learnt because first time I fitted the new exhaust clamp only to find it made fitting U-Bolt bloody difficult.)
Insert new doughnut with exhaust assembly paste.
Positioned new exhaust clamp with more exhaust paste and used SWIMBO to put her foot on end of tail pipe and push forward to close two pipes. First tighten forward U Bolt then and secure new exhaust clamp.
With SWMBO foot still on tail pipe, secure rear U-Bolt.

Start engine and allow assembly paste to cure.

No Leaks- job done.

But wait! This is a Morgan. Nothing goes completely well and to plan!!

Found that two of the pinch bolts on rubber bobbins had fractured (for a while it appears,)

4 New Bobbins and bolts ordered to finish the job.
