Have to fess up to a pair of dark red cords lurking in the wardrobe. Not brave enough to wear them in the Morgan. Bound to be found out....

I've got a pair of dark blue cords that I don't wear, they were a present but they just look so Tory boy (34" waist so a bit snug) I can't steal myself to put them on - on the way to Ukraine in the next bagful I think, they'll be warm for someone come winter.

March to October green or blue shorts, the rest of the year anything as long as it's dark denim not fussed - think mountain warehouse.

Any lurid red, yellow sort of colours go out in a bag for the next pavement collection for someone else to benefit from if they have been gifted me.

I wear black, unless I can find something blacker, then I wear that.

I will admit to a baker boy style hat, rather than a flat cap. It is black.

Amazing that you're still expected to wear a suit to teach kids. The last time I wore a suit to work was in 1998, when I started working in Zurich. That was when I picked up the habit of wearing Rohan trousers in the summer.

No expectation - and many of my colleagues are in shorts and polo shirts today. However, I've always taught in a suit, shirt and tie, and it makes me act more like a responsible adult.....

I get this. I once worked for a firm with a very strict dress code for customer facing employees.
Plain, dark suit, white shirt, sober tie, plain belt, shoes without buckles.

The best sales staff in this firm had hand made suits that I could not have afforded. I made do with Magee suits bought in the January sales each year.

There was a point to it though - suited and booted, it changed how we acted and it made for a much more professional organisation.
