Currently have a shade temperature of 36C and it still rising by the hour. Not sure if we get the much-heralded 40C but it won't be far off.
Our daughter has just returned from a dance event in Plymouth and can't believe the temperature difference in London compared to the S West.

So glad we installed the solar panels, we can run the air conditioning for nothing. 36C outside, 19C in the living room.

I wouldn't swap it for the shady garden with a light sea breeze wafting over us 27C @ 35% humidity  , too much time spent overseas in breathless dry air conditioning thank you. Each to their own.

The air source heat pump has a temperature display which has hit 44°C in south west Norfolk with maybe another degree to go. I reckon on it being two or three degrees above ambient as sensor inside housing. Chilly 27°C in lounge with all shades drawn. No exploding bee's witnessed yet

Just checked and 28deg indoors. Windows, blinds closed on sun facing direction. Fan running. Monty the dog is ok. Moving occasionally to new tiled floor spots, plenty of cool water, breathing normally, no panting/ tongue out. Same for me!

Just returned from checking on our horses. They were turned out overnight and would normally be turned out 24/7 at this time of year. We left them in their stables this morning. As soon as we put them in their stables (around 09:15), my horse got a little sweaty. We hosed him down which seemed to have done the trick. When we got to the stables just after 2pm, they were both settled. We have topped up their water and given them each an "ice lolly" (Take a plastic container, add coarsely chopped apple and carrot then fill with water and freeze. The apple bits float and the carrot bits sink leaving a reasonable distribution to keep them entertained for a few minutes).
We'll go back after 7pm to feed them and turn them out overnight. Tomorrow, we have the farrier coming at 09:00. He is going to earn his fee.

In Madrid we're toasted... 44ºC outside right now. The air con is trying its best, but hard to get the temperature below 26ºC in the appartment...

Old Mog got a little warm on the way home (as did I). Shirt and Suit now in the wash. 37 outside and 30 inside.....
