For some evidence, check out the power and torque curves on the Garage 56 web site for their Stage 1 kit here.
I can confirm there is a noticeable performance improvement from this kit, based on my seat-of-the-pants gauge.

I will check the G56, I actually have their filter cover. All I was saying is most evidence is anecdotal (seat of the pants, as it were) and that is why that great Italian drug Pla-ci-bo works so well.

What you will not have is the pinking which makes you let off the throttle, so in that respect more performance

No idea about fuel economy and haven't dyno'd my 3W. So no empirical evidence. But I can state unequivocally that my 3W runs the rev range quicker and has more pulling power at low revs than it did before the baflectomy and stealth intake. Where the pipes used to glow bright red, this is no longer the case. The engine feels happier and runs smoother so I'm easier on the throttle. Does that result in better fuel economy? Dunno.
