This afternoon we took the scenic route to Wicken Fen. Just after passing through Haddenham a Luton van moved over to my side of the road, for no apparent reason, then back again. Playing chicken or tying to put the wind up the bloke in the fancy car?

There was a video a month or so ago of someone doing this repeatedly and eventually hitting a motorcyclist. I really hope this isn’t a new fad. I didn’t get the reg, maybe somebody following did and reported them.

This sounds very terrible and scary. Do you intuitively think it was intentional or was it once again perhaps a cell phone that distracted the driver in a dangerous way?

Driving on the wrong side of the road has become quite common up in North Wales, perhaps something to do with lycra-louts and 1.5m clearance?

Could it have been an enormous pothole avoidance?

Sadly being issued a driving license is not a sanity check, there are some total nutters out there, let alone the insurance crashers who are now steadily on the increase as times get harder at the lower end of the income bracket.

You had a lucky escape.

After negotiating the Blackwall Tunnel for best part of a year complete with the cutting in and lane changes where there is no space for the white van to fit into following one blink of the indicator it brought back a dream of mine from many years ago.

I would love to buy a Morris Minor which costs pennies to insure, exchange both the front and rear bumpers with rsj's and just keep my line whilst driving, then when "Mr. I'll force my way in here" tries it on I would just keep on and rip the side out of the van/car and then charge a respray of my bumper to their insurance. I think that their day would be messed up a whole lot more than mine.

Don't get me wrong I am quite happy to let people in if they show just a little respect and courtesy for others, after all we all make mistakes and get in the wrong lane from time to time but bullies just don't fit in my world.

So sorry to read of this, one of the reasons I gave up on P cars over 25 years ago was the instances of what I can only imagine were envy based aggression, and what a relief it was to find myself driving a Morgan which seemed to encourage polar opposite attitudes from the general populace.

It is a great disappointment to think that given the combination of political evolutionary processes we might have arrived at a stage where even driving a Morgan might encourage the unfortunate envious by nature types to engage in antagonistic driving...

As has been typed it is good to know that it did not cause injury or damage, but I suspect not something that might be easy to forget.!
