Sorry to hear about you losing your dog, as a matter of interest, on your travels in France, did you stay in a small village in the Alsace named Rodern, Saw an identical car as yours wilts there.

Thanks for the feedback, Ron.

Thanks to all for your feedback and suggestions, though our dog would have been secured, we are now reconsidering as passing through the formalities at the tunnel etc. might just raise a red flag and ruin our adventure.

Thanks all, Ron

It must have been someone else. Our route did not go through Alsace. We took the motorail train to Feldkirch (near the Austrian/Swiss border) and from there through Switzerland to the Perigord and back on a slightly more southerly route:

Hi Michael, that was a superb route you took, took in many and varied aspects of France. Thanks for sharing.

Useful thread. I regularly transport our dog in the UK sat unfastened on the passenger seat of either of the two seaters. I guess I will have to mend my ways.

Would this sort of set up be acceptable do you think? [Linked Image]]Max[/url]

Hello Howard,
It seems the uk Highway Code discourages dogs on the front seat as it could be a distraction if the dog is moving around. In my case our dog would be secured as yours but also be on the passengers lap so preventing uncontrolled movement. A further valid aspect is the risk to the dog with airbags if they can’t be disabled. Given all that, it’s my opinion having pooch on the front seat is still open to the individuals interpretation and responsibility to ensure safety for all concerned and having that freedom of choice. Just my view.
Regards Ron
