The base of the sump has become porous leading to
Oil loss. I’ve made some enquires using the part number,
but they are obsolete. Tried Rimmers in Lincoln, but no joy.
Can anyone help with sourcing a new one? Or maybe the base
can be cut out and new plate welded in…… is this an option?
I assume they are a steel alloy, but only guessing.

Looks as though you will have to employ that Chinese chap -- Mr Wel Ding. Actually brazing would be more appropriate. I've just had to repair a porous Rover V8 sump by cutting out the bad section and brazing in a plate.

Hi Simon. Apologies for the delay responding. Many thanks for your reply and the offer to repair. There is now some doubt as to whether the sump is actually the cause of the problem. Under further investigation. I'll be back to you when I have more info.
