Back in 2004 I was just about to go to France for the weekend. Jumped into the car a day or two before and the seat webbing collapsed. I didn't have time to get a replacement, but I did have a reel of 2.4mm nylon trimmer line, so I removed the seat and laced a load of line back and forth across the frame to effect a temporary repair that would get me to France and back in comfort.
That was something like 80k miles ago. Still haven't got round to replacing the webbing properly. Bravo, that takes all the biscuits! On my list of workrounds now Impressive. Surely, this fix would have been cheaper with baling string?

I‘ ve got the same expierence with the seat of my old MINI.
At first the Seat was a little lowered an I wonder that there is something different. But than there was a strange noise and the webbing was totally down.
Don‘t know how the MOGs webbing looks, but sometime parts of other British cars will fit. The MINI one?

I took the seat to a local upholsterers as I thought it would be an easy fix for him as he had the tools, materials and experience to carry out the job. However he didn't seem very interested, although he did say he would have a go, but wasn't confident that he could provide a solution that would last. I was surprised at this and even my wife commented after that he was bothered.
My next plan was to do what Hamwich did and lace the bottom of the seat with something like thin elasticated rope, such as the type used by climbers, only thinner.
I like the look of the link (MGB seat base) that Treesurveyor has posted and think that that could be modified to suit.
Treesurveyor were you able to drill the holes in the frame with the seat cover still in place or does it have to be removed to drill them.

"Treesurveyor were you able to drill the holes in the frame with the seat cover still in place or does it have to be removed to drill them." I had the seat cover off, because I was fitting heated seat pads for winter, but you should be able to do it with the cover clips removed, and the seat on protective surface to save scuffing the leather.
