I'm certain that the next version will be a plug in hybrid, the space would be fine for a small battery and Ford has cars sold as plug in hybrids with that motor.

I suspect it'll be a full EV and the battery pack will replace the petrol tank under the left had seat. Much simpler than a hybrid.

I agree - hybrid makes no sense in a vehicle like this. Having to package the gasoline engine with all its auxiliaries is challenge enough, let alone adding a battery and trying to sandwich an electric motor into the powertrain. Full battery electric makes much more sense.

Might as well replace the exhaust silencer under the right hand seat too I suspect...

Plus of course the weight and volume of the engine would be much better used for additional battery. If they can get something around 30KWh of battery capacity into the car that would be good for 130 miles of range, possibly more if they can keep overall weight down. I suspect that would be plenty for most use-cases of a car like the Super 3. There will always be some hardy souls who want to go on trans-continental tours in them, but I reckon 99% of users will have them as weekend toys.

The white exhaust header and pipe did change colour initially to a brownish colour but after a few hundred miles turned back to white, not sure why that happened but so far all good.

If it is powder coating it will melt around the original cured temperature which could be as low as 180°C. Front of exhaust pipes will be way above that.

Thanks for posting the pics from the factory visit. I suspect the off-roader has no ground cleareance issues, perhaps there may be a kit available to raise the chassis a tad for those who have to traverse higher than usual speed humps..?

For exhaust paint.. I have many years ago used Sperex VHT in yellow on my first car an AH Sprite Frogeye... I had put a three branch exhaust on it and wanted it to look like a bunch of bannanas..(-: The paint discoloured a bit in time on the real hot spots but did the job... Still available on the www, and in a variety of colours.

I also had very good results with Sperex in the late 70's and early 80's on various Fords. If you cure it properly it did seem to last.

Regarding Bunny's comment of using the space behind the seats for storage- I believe that space is used for the seatbelt retraction mechanisms, so not available.
Does anyone know about customer production units or dealer demo units being underway yet? Hopefully "Quality Control" has given the green light by now so that production can begin. To my knowledge, no Super 3 has made it to the States yet as well.
