My knob is loose ! It revolves when before it was a nice firm knob. I'm talking about my gear knob of course - what else! I have removed it and screwed it back on but it still rotates. I find this distracting whilst driving but I can't see how to fix it. Is there a solution or do I need a new knob? This looks like the one on my Roadster - https://www.librands.co.uk/products-view-253.html

My guess - if the knob is attached the way it is on my car:
You just have to unscrew the lower ring- it has an internal thread- then you should see some grub screws. Just tighten them!

You just have to unscrew the lower ring- it has an internal thread- then you should see some grub screws. Just tighten them! Thanks. I'll take a look and see if this works.

You just have to unscrew the lower ring- it has an internal thread- then you should see some grub screws. Just tighten them! Also had that problem, try drilling little indents for the grub screws and fix them with Thread Lock.

The knob and lower ring are both screwed onto a threaded cylinder which is held onto the gearstick with three tiny allen grub screws, which often work loose. It is sometimes be difficult to unscrew the lower ring, so wrap it in a bit of rubber strip and grip with a mole wrench or gas pliers to get it going, whilst holding onto the knob.
An identical gear knob can be obtained direct from “Richbrook”, usually much cheaper than other suppliers.

An identical gear knob can be obtained direct from “Richbrook”, usually much cheaper than other suppliers.
As well as some nice designs that are much better. Recommend Richbrook.
