As an aside, what a difference from the Pembleton! Changes at 5000-5500 are the sweet spot with the MG 850, although with a bit of tuning we are largely free of the low-end lugging that one has to be careful to avoid with the S&S. Agreed, the Moto Guzzi 90° V twin (big or small block) is a totally different animal from the narrow angle S & S. Much smoother both at top and bottom end of rev range. One wonders what the M3W would have been like with a tweaked MG California 1400. Sadly, the 850 is the largest E5 compliant air cooled block that they offer now.

5,800 rpm is the standard limit but I seem to recall that S&S also offered uprated valve springs which raised the limit to something like 6,300. I'll see if I can find more details.

I found the S&S information. ![[Linked Image]](https://zupimages.net/up/22/34/xj1z.jpg) so I don't think death is 50 rpm above. I will set the total cut-off at 6600 rpm.
