Two Morganspots today !!

This morning around 11:00 (we were in the Roadster), a red M3W with a youngish chap driving came pootling past in the opposite direction (going west out of Milford-on-Sea). Sounded great !

Then this evening around 19:00, a very nice cream/maroon, (possibly) +4, heading south-west out of Brockenhurst, with a mature couple aboard (we were in the tin-top).

Anyone on here ??

Went to a cars & coffee this morning. Despite having fewer cylinders than any of the other cars there, there were a lot of positive comments

Thought I'd better fill mine for tomorrow's trip to Winslow and Aylesbury, so went out to Prescott Breakfast Club, too.
Not well supported compared to pre-pandemic levels. I did catch up with a lovely lady and her father whose SII Land Rover I have seen parked up in the Orchard car park several times. She is a photographer and also does VSCC commentary for the weekend short course event (the main commentary hut is remote from hill control) - good to meet up with another person involved with events. The SII had been well restored. smile

Just returned home after an 1100 mile jaunt round the Lake District. Mog performed really well and didn't miss a beat, returning a very reasonable 35+mpg in the process.

Only issue was the tonneau cover zip deciding to give up the ghost, temporary repair done with a few tie wraps, so will have to find a decent trimmer who can stitch in a new one (my usual bloke has selfishly moved to Wisbech).

Yes it's an interesting comment and like you when we go somewhere we thoroughly explore it instead of ripping through and onto somewhere else.
Besides the Lake District is a beautiful place to spend some relaxing time we hire a cottage for the week and chose somewhere to eat on the way round, glad you had a good one.

A beautiful part of the world, with some great days out, generally passable roads and some real walking country and coastal locations with a scattering of Roman settlements for good measure. Although there is some dispute over this with Scotland and Wales also making claims it may have been the birthplace of Maewyn Succat!

Given my penchant for the prehistoric, my favourite bits were Castlerigg, Mayburgh Henge and King Arthurs Round Table.

The only downsides were drivers who couldn't seem to go above 25mph on completely clear 60mph zones, and still braked at ever corner and every oncoming vehicle. I hate to think how they'd cope in Cornwall or Wales - the Lakes roads are like motorways compared to them.

And [rant mode] frigging cyclists who think it perfectly acceptable to crawl up a hill at 8mph completely oblivious to the 15 mile queue of traffic behind them. And on most roads I had buses, tractors and cars pull over to let me pass with a friendly wave and a thumbs up, but not one single cyclist. Get yourselves a proper hobby which doesn't have a negative impact on every other road user.[/rantmode]
