Yoh John.
Am enjoying,vicariously, your trips again!!🤮
Re the speakers balance stuff I’m hoping that a company I’ve found in Peterborough may be able to help, if not I’ll ask on TM if anyone has any rec for East Mids/East Anglia area.
Defo up for a meet up eg over your neck of the woods… funnily enough, at the Care Home for retired IFA’s (or Nene Valley Railway-where I volunteer on Wednesdays) I work closely with a chap called Ken who, we’ve worked out, lives in the same village as you (if remembered what you said 10 months ago correctly). He drives an old (70’s I think) sand coloured Rover P6 mainly (plus another older car which for the life of me I can’t recall just now). He hasn’t spotted you driving around but now looks out for any Mogs having seen Belle (over three sodding months ago 🤭).... and breathe…
You will really enjoy the track day big time - I hope you get Shane (Kelly) as your instructor (his attendance is linked to F1 weekends due to Aston work at track), top bloke and v interesting to talk to esp motorsport (and his car driving background)….it’s amazing how much our steeds can be pushed….
Catch up upon your return and we’ll sort out a date…
Best wishes
HB

We agree.

Keep them coming Dales, they are fantastic promotional shots for the Plus Four so it's very good timing thumbs

Great promotional shots for the Yorkshire Dales, too! thumbs

John,
The solution to the sound system is to fit a radio in the bulkhead behind the seats. When I did so and wired the radio in to the Kenwood amplifier, the fader adjustment in the radio produced fully adjustable volumes from all four speakers! Clearly the culprit is either the Musicstream unit or(more possibly) the way Morgan installed it!!!! innocent
Just be careful to use a short chassis radio as space is limited. Full Bluetooth is still available for music from the phone through the radio!

Cheers!

Thanks Robbie - details noted, I’ll take that info with me when I pop along to Peterborough in, hopefully, the coming days….
Kind regards

A lovely run out in the Plus Four today. Exploring some of the Dales and villages I don’t get to as often. Additionally had a fun drive up through a little pass. It’s not quite one of the passes in the Lakes District, but I did enjoy a good climb and decent. Apologies to Alistair, the Dales and the car both remain quite green.

I think both these two in the trees capture the Oak Green Metallic paint quite well. I’m finding it tricky to get the balance in photos right with it.

A friend has a print of a Morgan in roughly this spot in Kettlewell. I did my best from memory to recreate it. I’ll have to get a picture of the print and do a comparison at some point.

Very fun little climb up and decent back down this Dale. Looking forward to some pictures and drives up here with the Defender when we get some snow this winter.

A fun little picture of the grade of decent.

All in all, one of my favourite drives yet. Was fun to be out exploring a bit, as most of my previous drives have been to familiar spots. I think the aimlessness of discovery-driving in the Morgan will become a favourite past time.

Some of the roads pictured look like goat paths, just enough width for one car. How do you handle another vehicle going the other way?

ā€œGoat Pathsā€ šŸ˜‚. I nearly snorted my coffee out my nose!

Sheep country in the Dales, so ā€œsheep pathsā€ would be more appropriate. Indeed, there are regularly sheep on the roads.

Yes, the lanes can be narrow, but there’s usually a bit of verge every couple hundred meters or so we’re you can pull a couple wheels off the road. So there does end up being a bit of a game should you encounter oncoming traffic over who will pull over or reverse. People generally watch the road well ahead if visibility permits and one or the other will wait while the other pulls up and around. Traditionally this is acknowledged by the passer by with a smile and the lifting of a finger or three from the steering wheel, which is reciprocated by the waiting party.

Fortunately it’s not too busy most of the year and the quieter smaller dales like the ones I’ve pictured so far do have less traffic than the main three or four.

I was actually reflecting on this while out the other day, that it feels less like ā€œdrivingā€ up here than it does like you’re ā€œpilotingā€ the Morgan.
