We collected "Florence" from Krazy Horse on Saturday 27th and it was great to be driving her again the eighty miles back from Bury St Edmunds. Wednesday 31st we set off for a couple of nights in Yorkshire staying near Halifax. Drove over three hundred miles some of them over very interesting roads. Fortunate with the weather and had a great run back through previously unexplored parts of Notts and Leics. BTW we stayed at The Shibden Mill Inn which I would highly recommend. Off to Bicester on Wednesday for the Driving Academy and really looking forward to that.

We are relative newcomers to the Morgan world having taken delivery of our first Morgan, a Plus 4, in May 2013 and in four years covered just shy of 27,000 miles including multiple trips to France and Spain. We swapped her for a 3.7 Roadster in July 2017 and had covered a similar mileage in the new car including a six week 4,000 mile trip through France, Switzerland, Italy and back through France. Then Covid arrived and significantly cramped our style. We took delivery of the Plus Four September 1st 2021 but with Covid and brake recall problems have only covered just over 3,000 miles to date. However with good luck and a following wind we're off to the Lakes on Thursday a week or so then Dorset for three days on the 21st so hopefully get a good few miles under our belts. We're looking at France for October using the postponed ferry tickets from the August trip we should have had. I'm really enjoying the comfort of the Plus Four not least having somewhere for my left foot given that it's auto.

Something I forgot to mention in my post about our recent trip to Yorkshire. Apologies if this is all old hat to some of you guys but it's new to me so here we go.
Four or five years ago I got a tip from Phil Ledgerwood about packing a Morgan for travelling and I eventually got round to trying it last week. It requires having a luggage rack with sidescreen storage and a sidescreen bag. Typically on a trip you just want to get there to start your holiday and this involves a quick blast along A Roads and/or Motorways so the sidescreens are on the car and the empty bag is on the luggage rack. This trip involved a formal occasion which required suit, posh frock, etc. We put these in a suiter which we folded in half and put into the sidescreen bag on the rack. A small case for our other stuff and shoes and coats all fitted nicely behind the seats. On arrival at our hotel took the formal gear out of the sidescreen bag and it was all fit to wear without a crease. We shall definitely be using that tip again.

Yeeeeesssssssssss After a bit of chasing finally got Belle back this afternoon after meeting Acumen at a truck stop on the A1 (as they wouldn’t have been able get under a low bridge to our village). Only a 10 mile journey today coz I want to check tyre pressures before going for a proper run but it was 10 miles where I forgot about my joint pains, which always happens excessively every Wednesday when I work at NVR. I was in heaven. Soooooo good to be back. If I’m honest (I realise it was only a short run) I didn’t notice any difference at all in the brakes but it didn’t massively bother me before anyway. Only negative is a couple of hefty scuff marks in the paint protection on the running board on the drivers side which weren’t there before. Both myself and the delivery chap took photos and he said I should contact MMC to sort it out.. … Does anyone on here know if the paint protector can be simply removed and replaced without needing a full paint job? I have sent an email to my usual dealers to ask for guidance as to who I should contact and await their reply. But I am ruddy chuffed to have driven her today.. HB
