I am a Monarchist and I doubt that anyone will ever out do her years of service , her interest in the events of the Commonwealth and the world was remarkable.

Not ashamed to say I had a lump in my throat when I heard the news, I am honoured and proud to have served Her Majesty, Her Country and Her Commonwealth. My proudest moment was when in 42 Commando RM we paraded our colours and Battle Honours in front of Her Majesty on Her Silver Jubilee culminating with a private dinner in our Mess, she stayed at the dinner with Prince Philip until after midnight dancing and having fun. A wonderful strong woman with an immense presence and sense of humor. God Save The King.

I am very sad and I liked her very much in all phases of my life. Queen Elizabeth II was also for me as a German, a very likeable and extremely strong personality with great achievement and merit. I firmly believe she was the best queen the UK and the whole world could have had in her era. And I am convinced that the world will always speak of QE2 as an era, RIP.

Really sad news to hear the Queen's passing, our entire family, distributed around the Commonwealth, came together last night to mark her passing, All of us had in some way been touched, during our lifetime, by the Queen's tireless sense of duty and service to her people, to the very end.

We as a nation have been fortunate in our history to have been served by two exceptional Queens both Elizabeth's whose reigns will be remembered as a Golden Age. Queen Elizabeth II will be sadly missed, the country's matriarch is gone. Whilst life must go on, I sense there will be something missing from our social fabric with her passing, the end of an era which saw some of the greatest changes in the UK's history and position in the world,

Condolences to the Royal family at this very difficult time.

God save the KIng

What an amazing memory to have.... I know a few in the armed forces and one who worked directly for the royal family. Their loyalty to Her Majesty runs very deeply.

She was an amazing servant to this country, dedicating her entire life - right up until only the last few hours - to our nation.

Losing such an extraordinary monarch is very unsettling for everyone. It's quite hard to believe she is no longer with us.
