Thanks everyone, so it seems highly likely I can go further than my two clicks. TBH it got pretty warm yesterday on the second click and it was only two degrees outside, so at most I probably only need the third click anyway. Monty's heater is really rather effective

Don't forget regardless of how many 'clicks' you squeeze out of it...it all depends on how the bowden cable has been set up correctly at the business end in the engine bay actually controlling the water valve

As I posted above my 2011 4/4 does not have a hot water valve. The heater matrix is full hot all the time. The heat is controlled by a flap control dry by the heater knob. Mine decided to almost seize. Lubing the dash parts you should get 5 clicks. But as others say the Bowden cable routing needs adjusting if kinked. & the flap mechanism cleaned & lubed. I used some mintex brake grease on mine. (high temp) you get to it via the heater vents.

Looking at parts books from 2006 to end of Classic production there is no such valve listed for any model. I conclude the bowden cable on all models operates a control flap as described by IcePack, with coolant flow through heater remaining constant. In the 2006 - 2014 parts book the same heater is used for all Classics although there is a second Combi one listed to include air con elements, again apparently for all models so spec'd. The later parts book doesn't even list the heater itself. I can see unions for aircon on my Roadster heater so suspect they may have standardised on Combi version.

Remote cable operated heater control - modern high tech luxury This is equivalent on my Land Rover. Operated just twice a year, fully on or off. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/3GzkfNK.jpg) It does have continuously variable fan speed for the fug stirrer though. How things have moved on in the Morgan world over the past 60 years eh!

Probably the rheostat switch. Mine slowdown over time. However its effectively 2 rheostats in one switch, you can remove the 3 wires from thier current postion onto the other 3 pins, that sorted it for me.

There are no rheostats on two speed heater fan Morgan's. The motor speed is field controlled with two +ve connections for low and high speed. The switch is a simple single pole rotary selector or momentary logic control push button depending on year.
