I had this sort of issue in Ireland in the Evoque (petrol).
The truck went into limp mode: I was in Dublin and not far from the dealer, when I phoned I was told to bring the car in, but not to turn off the engine.
A Tech. came out, hooked up the OBD reader and turned off the engine. He said come in for a tea, the vehicle will be fixed in 15 mins.
I asked what the cure was.... paper towels and warmth. It seems that with a transverse engine rain wipes out the plugs, as they are not protected. He pulled the igniters off the plugs, wiped it down and let the engine heat dry it all.
It happened twice more, before I sold it.

For sure, when electronics are working well they are a wonder. Unfortunately such is their micro complexity it is beyond the skill of man to repair them or even fully interrogate systems to effect a real repair one can be truly confident in. Replacement would seem to be the normal repair strategy today, and which unfortunately seems to have a possible dumbing down effect on the technical skills base, since Ctrl Alt Del entered the mindset as being the first line of repair..?

I do hope that your Morgan performs without fault on it`s return and continues to do so well into the foreseeable future.

The dealer has been working on my car since last Friday, he phoned this afternoon to say the fault as been located to the main CPU and a replacement will be programmed by the factory tomorrow and he should have it by the end of the week.

So with the fault being in the CPU and in all probability been with the car since new, ignored by the previous owner.

After another 3 weeks with the dealer, my car was delivered back to me this morning I drove the car onto my drive and found the central locking was not working, phoned the dealer who turned back the delivery truck who collected the car and have now taken it to the nearest dealer, they had not programmed the fob to the new E.C.U. I was told it will only take 10 minutes and the car will be back today.
School boy error I could not make it up as it would sound to rediculois .
I do have the part number of the new unit and when I get chance to make sure it as cured all the ills, I will update the post with details.

Not the first time I've heard of a CX car delivered back from repairs only to find the fob disabled

Why are they not checked off against a QA list prior to departure ??

Gave the car a good run today, looks like it could be fixed

Part number is 011001 body control module

All the electrical faults were traced to this module.
