Keep seeing Defenders for daft money in USA - not sure if they are restricted imports and maybe cult status?
Below might be an extreme example.

Which why when a it of my verge on the roof fell off in the storms I didn't go up a ladder to fix it but got someone in. Falling off ladders is one of the biggest killers of over 60s.

Top tip for ladder working - never let your belt buckle move beyond either side rail. I reckon many people come to grief because they are reluctant to re-site the ladder to get to the next bit they are working on. I'm not mad keen on going up ladders but it's like many things, the 7 P's come into play

Proper Planning and Preparation Prevent Piss-Poor Performance.

Agreed & I have the bit at the top that fits on to make it wider & more stable. But this was over 2 floors up so I thought no I'll pay £70 to get it done.

IIRC the highest I've been was up 17 floors, admittedly scaffold, but the tug up old wooden access ladders makes you concentrate, no harnesses in the early days

One of my strange bucket list items is to go up a really big tower crane, sadly now I'm out of the industry I doubt I'll manage it
