It's been refreshing to see how many nations of the world have made a gesture, some in a quite spectacular way to mark the passing of the Queen.

As to Charles III, time will tell as to whether the press will allow him to to settle into his role without continual reference to past events.

I thought I saw a picture of Prince Andrew cuddling a corgi, but I think the photo had been doctored.... innocent

This trinket dish still survives on my mums sideboard, it's over 60 years old and as a kid it always made me think of the Queen

On the back it's titled "Chivalry"

We are great supporters of the Salvation Army (as are a couple of others on TM) and the Queen was very involved throughout her reign as she was of the people, it remains to be seen whether her son is.

Well put.

For most of us she's been around for all of our adult lives.

I was surprised that a Mercedes was used as hearse. Had expected a Rolls-Royce, Bentley or old Land Rover.

It was a funeral director's local hearse for the trip down to Edinburgh ... it will likely be a different story for the actual funeral on Monday.

Wow!

A five mile long queue to pay respect and say goodbye. Who else on earth could ever command such reverence?

The boys and girls of the Senior Service will be pulling the Gun Carriage which is tradition since they came to the rescue at Queen Victoria's funeral. The Queen approved the design of the Royal Hearse with big clear windows so all would be able to see the coffin, I guess it will be used again to take her to Windsor from Admiralty Arch.
