That's beautiful and fits its surroundings perfectly ..... mine is simpler and made by a flute-maker pal out of African Blackwood to replace the cracked old black plastic '70s one... every Morgan ends up unique courtesy of the add-ons and whims of their various custodians ... it's great that you have made such a classy addition to its journey

I have to say again that there are many excellent craftsmen in the UK!

I am often tempted to ask what such custom-made products cost.
Here in Germany many parts would be unaffordable - at least for me.

The asymmetry doesn't really bother me. If, however, I ever add something that needs a switch, that's where it will go...

Busy day - finished fitting the manifold and then polished the stainless exhaust and refitted. Sorted out the wiper symbol on my stalk, used a bit of tape and a new wiper sticker. Not brilliant but better than it was. Used a small paintbrush and tidied up the dash panel and dial bezels.

Started to polish up the new paint on the drivers side wing, but realised the paint match was terrible. Ended up having to respray the whole top if the wing and then blend in. Looks OK but will have to try and find a paintshop that can create some tins for me that are a better match. Then attacked the big rust gashes on the passenger side front wings, sanded to metal, treated the rust and then slow and steady filling, sanding, filling, sanding etc, but again looks much better. Currently in Primer, bur will hopefully get a coat or two of red on her tomorrow, depending on what time I get back from Santa Pod.

I used "The Touch Up Paint Factory" they matched my paint from the reg number and gave me the Morgan code, They do spray cans and touch up pens.

Current paint is from them, and their touch up pens are really good. Unfortunately car has been resprayed and had a colour change from blue to red at some point in the past so no idea what the colour is. My guestimate of Rover Tartan Red is off. Also had at least 10 years of sun fading so no guarantee of a match. Found a place quite local who'll do a spectro analysis and make a rattle can for £14.99 so fingers crossed.

For the first 10,000 miles I greased the kingpins religiously every 500 miles and have always had this issue. Reducing the frequency of greasing has definitely helped. It's only done 12,000 miles now so I wouldn't imagine they are worn but I'll check it out.

Late finish from work as I had detention, but managed to call into the local factors and picked up a couple of litres of anti-freeze. Topped her up and started her and the new exhaust manifold has sealed perfectly - no leaks at all. Very happy!

Valve cap - tiny component, big problem !

I had new tyres fitted a couple of weeks ago. After a few days, the rear offside tyre had gone completely flat. I had a chat to a couple of people independently and they suggested I examine the inside of the valve-cap.

When I bought the car it was fitted with four of the Morgan-logo ones, I found the original box and there was a spare one, which I fitted. Evidently it wasn't seating properly due to a flattened and crumbly tiny O-ring (much worse than the one shown front-right in the photo), which was depressing the centre of the valve, and resulting in a slowish and inaudible leak. Something I've never encountered before.

I swapped them around, and the same happened when I put it on the front. I have since tried three other types, and the problem has not recurred. So I have fitted new caps all round, and all the tyres are now holding 24psi. Can't say as I've ever looked inside a valve cap before, but in future I will !

(I also ordered some replacement tiny O-rings online, as I like the logo'd caps -- anyone know who manufactured them ?).
