A company is rumored to have purchased the X-Wedge production rights and they are a motorcycle manufacturer larger than S&S.

Look in the Threads here on TM for the name.

Worrisome indeed but I feel the blame here lies with S&S. The story I heard is that when it was announced that X-Wedge production would end, Morgan placed a huge order on S&S for X-Wedge spares but this was not fulfilled.

I also heard a rumour that the new X-Wedge owner is converting it to metric before recommencing production. I'm not sure that would make sense bearing in mind that their largest market is likely to be the US, but it's what I heard.

Morgan should call a specialist company like https://www.stephensgaskets.co.uk/gaskets/cylinder-head-gaskets
I doubt the X-Wedge needs anything special in material or cutting...

In the USAA I would ask these folks if they can do gaskets for the X-Wedge.

https://www.olsonsgaskets.com/home/

They do some pretty rare automotive gaskets.

It is possible to make your own gaskets with gasket paper for some locations. Try Ebay or Amazon search for Gasket making materials. There are how to do it vids a plenty, below is the You Tube link for one such.

I didn't see that, or find anything on it in TM, but perhaps I'm not searching correctly. Who is rumored to have purchased the rights?

The rocker cover gaskets are an aluminum gasket sandwich with rubber sealing ribs on either surface of the aluminum, so not quite as simple as cutting out some gasket material. I suppose I can re-install my old ones - with a bit of sealer - but would prefer to replace them both.

FYI. my dealer - Morgan Cars Mid-Atlantic - finally came up with a set of gaskets for me. Somewhat expensive at $135 for the pair, but at least they were finally able to get them!

We tried Matt's machine shop...but found no longer have any S&S spares...we await with interest to see whether Richard Thorne can get any from Morgan to deal with a slight weep that came to light during the Treffen run a few weeks ago (car is due in for check/MoT next week). If that fails, we may be into exploring how to make them.

We likely have the orginal (10+ yr old type) that have not been disturbed...

MMC may have a few in stock, but getting them to release them for sale is a whole different story...
