MORGAN SUPER 3

Hi all,
sincerely hope the Super 3 name is provisional. I do not like it. I thought Morgan 3/3 (3 wheels, 3 cylinders) might be more suitable, following a pattern already used in MMC (4/4). Alternatively it could be called Plus 3 (3 cylinders), thus completing the line of Morgan cars called "Plus" (3,4,6,8). Finally I imagined a "Sport" version, perhaps with a supercharged (turbo) engine.

I agree with your suggestions but imagine MMC and maybe new owners have mulled over the name for some time and are extremely unlikely to change it at this relatively late stage.

i always thought that the Roadster would be called the Plus 6 as it was the first car with a six cylinder engine. Imagine my surprise, when having bought a 'SYX' registration to go with our purchase, it turned out to be called something I thought covered all open sports cars and the registration documents called it a 4/4!

Roady .... there's a plethora of words descibing the various forms of open cars .... nowadays they tend to be used almost randomly for best marketing effect ... but strictly speaking the 'Roadster' is mis-named .... as traditionally a Roadster had no weather equipment .... so, not a 'soft-top' but a 'no-top' 🙂

The new model is definitely the Super3 and won't change. It's planned to be the first of a range of "SuperXX" cars in the same way the "Aero" range sat alongside existing models.

Apparently they did test a turbo but all it did was spin the rear wheel! I would think it more likely that the next development will be an EV rather than a Super3 Sport.

I like that colour scheme, not sure about the name.
I already have a Super7 sprint, supplementing my selection with a super 3 super sport certainly seems an excessive series of eses.
