One of my sidescreen windows has become so stiff it is virtually impossible to slide it open. There nothing obviously jamming it. I have tried dry PTFE spray, as i didn't want any oil/grease on it, but without benefit. Anybody have any suggestions?

Try using cotton buds to clean-out the channels (removing insects, pine needles, etc). Worked for me.

Its had a good clean out but doesn't move as slowly as the passenger one. Not as bad as yours sounds. Might try the talc suggestion.

I use candle wax on the bonnet tape to stop the bonnet chafing which works well. It might be worth trying to rub some candle wax into the felt in the side screen channel.
My 4/4 was used as a daily driver and the side screens slope slightly downwards to the front. When parked, rain water would collect in the channels, run forwards and pour into the car on both sides. I can't remember if it made the windows stick but if you have water pooling in the channels it might make the felt swell? Using the smallest drill in my set, I drilled a drainage hole from the outside up into the window channel at the front which solved the problem.

I use candle wax on the bonnet tape to stop the bonnet chafing which works well. I have taken to using lip salve on the bonnet tapes. It is made from beeswax, carnauba wax, and lanolin (plus the sweet smelly stuff), and comes in those handy applicators. Might be a challenge to get it in the channels, an artist's brush should do it (the short flat kind -- brush, not artist).
