I'm not sure whether this will help or not, but I just installed the overflow lines in my car. I used ¼" fuel line rated for fuel injection systems. I'm sure regular fuel line would have been fine, as there is no pressure, but it's all my local parts store had. After three weeks of no Moggie, I didn't have the patience to start a parts search.

I rant the tubing down the inside of the inner valance. On my car, there is a small harness going to the front lights, as well as the hard pipe for the one-shot. I followed the one-shot pipe to the removable section of firewall near the cernterline. I added an Adell clamp to turn the hoses downward. The Adell clamp is mounted with one of the center section fasteners. Everything else was buttoned up with nylon wire ties. It's a similar path to the overflow piping on my mother's '64 drophead. It's a difficult spot to get a decent photo. Hopefully this one will help.

Naturally, I needed to go for a test drive...Yippee!

I suspect with all that effort, you may have just guaranteed never to suffer a sticking float needle ever again GP...

You did allow enough room for flexing as the motor shifts during acceleration, correct? I know I don't need to ask....but I had to!

Something I've been meaning to do for a while ... aluminium fire extinguisher fitted .... tucks neatly under the front of the passenger seat with the holder screwed into the wooden seat raisers ... wouldn't know it was there .... having had old cars over the years (and had a distressing incident helping another classic car owner trying to put out an electrical fire on the shoulder of the M62 with no extinguisher or the bolt croppers it would have taken to cut the shorted starter feed that kept re-igniting itself) I always fit a big red battery-earth cutout switch right there on the dash (which can be pocketed on parking as an extra security device) and an extinguisher.

What in the blastic box that sits on the tunnel?

It covers the hole to accommodate the shift mechanism of the type 9 five speed that was fitted by a previous owner ... the tunbel is the pld four speed one 'modified' (with a can-opener by the look of it! 🙂) ... just covers and tidies everything up.
