That doesn't seem like a lot for one of these - I suppose the Toyota gearbox killed it.

Well the 62 has a nice front and rear aspect but the bumper mounting shock absorbers on the Plus 8 take a lot of money to get rid of as they look hideous.

I suspect you're jesting! Barn finds are always presented as found, cleaning them up can knock several grand off the value (there have been a couple of examples of this happening on Bangers & Cash).

I must admit I was undecided on the issue of presentation.

You're spot on Ian. Barn finds are usually presented "as is, where is" and this issue has been covered in "Chasing Classic Cars" hosted by the respected commentator, Wayne Carini.

"Barn find" sales usually do best when potential purchasers can get in front of the vehicle given that a lot can be hidden.
As this is a global auction, I thought a tidy-up would have been appropriate and was surprised the vendor did not manually "turn" the engine to demonstrate it was not ceased and that had me thinking along your lines M3W55.

Very nice, I own the same bike, black too, one year older.

SOLD US$ 45,000.00

I didn't expect such a high price. 35,000$ would have been my estimate.

I agree with you Richard on the aesthetics but in a US-based market, I would have thought a V8 would always get the nod.
